CURIO - Cabinet of illusions
“A curio cabinet is a specialised type of display case, made predominantly of glass, presenting collections of curios, like figurines or other interesting objects that invoke curiosity, and perhaps create illusions, memories and fantasies...”
A cabinet made of combination of acrylic plates with two different Dichroic films on vertical walls and mirror films of partial transparency on the shelves and 100% mirror on the bottom.
One Dichroic film (depending on the angle you look at it) shifts between warm tones of cyan/blue/magenta and red/gold; another Dichroic film shifts between cool tones of blue/magenta/yellow and gold/blue.
Middle wall and shelves with Mirror film provide the illusion of infinity of the cabinet.
Rays of light passing through the Dichroic plates are being diffracted and paint the surrounding garden, trees, bushes and flowers in new fantasy colours.
